Hikari, Border Collie, Deceased with Flowers
Hikari died suddenly yesterday, just before her 12th birthday. We are baffled as to the cause. She went for a 90 minute walk in the park the day before, showed no signs of weight loss, nor loss of appetite or conspicous lack of energy. She wasn’t as fast as a bullet, as she was in her youth, but even in death she seems to be saying "quick, quick, make haste."
This is the only time I gave her flowers (thanks to a gift from tomo39mimi), inspite of the fact that I was the only male she loved. She spent her whole life hoping and waiting for me to be her guy, turning down the advances of the border collie dog that we adopted partly with Hikari in mind. Alas, Hikari was under the impression that she was human.
We gave the rug, which was a wedding present from my aunt Angela, to the crematorium (in Ryuuzou Temple) because it was her favourite and she has to spend a night there on her own.
Hikari will be cremated with only the flowers.
