In this photo, I’m on the fifth floor of the hospital which looks out over North Campus Valdosta State University. That building is where Jim took all his undergraduate chemistry courses when he majored in chemistry at VSU–back in the 1960’s. Of course, he was stopped in the hall by one of the nurses, a former student in a nursing chemistry class.
Jim and I drove into town today. First we stopped at the VCC and had the soup and salad bar. Then we went on to South Georgia Medical Center to see Ron Coppage, Sunday School class member. After a family member’s sudden death (heart attack) this last week, Ron went to the doctor yesterday. He learned that his blood sugar was very elevated and that he has sugar diabetes. Fortunately the doctor was able to treat him. As we arrived, he was being moved from medical intensive care to a regular room. We were able to see and talk with his wife too. The man who just passed away was her daughter’s husband. Ron will be fine as he follows the doctor’s instructions for meds and diet.
