I’ve been avoiding getting another phone for a few weeks. I finally gave in and ordered this on Thursday. It arrived today (yesterday at time of writing, but you get what I mean). Its a Samsung Galaxy SII. I snapped this just after I got home from work (nice early finish) before I had had a good play with it.

First impressions – for a phone with such a big screen (4.3") its pretty light. Its also pretty thin. The downside of this slim & light weight is that it feels a bit cheap & plastic. The dual core processor is blazingly fast at doing everything I’ve asked it to do so far & the screen quality is great.

The Samsung calendar app is awful and I haven’t been able to find one that’s as good as the HTC Calendar app. But I guess its not the end of the world. The camera is half decent and the flash is also pretty good. Its not a xenon one but its not bad.

The phone layout (settings & what not) seems a bit clunky compared with my HTC Desire, that combined with the crap calendar & cheapo feel mean the jury’s out as to if it stays or goes yet.

Flash mounted on camera set to 1/4 power bounced of ceiling phone sat on green ball thing (hint of green colour on RHS) on a sheet of white A4.
